Aamir Khan’s daughter Ira Khan has already begun her pre-wedding festivities. The mental health activist is set to tie the knot with fiance Nupur Shikhare in January. After celebrating a traditional Maharashtrian Kelvan ceremony, Ira and Nupur had another event on Monday, which saw women of their families decking her up in floral jewelery.
As readers would know, Ira Khan and Nupur Shikhare got engaged last year, and are said to exchange their vows next year in January. A few days earlier, Ira’s mother Reena Dutta and bestie Mithila Palkar came together to celebrate the Kelvan ceremony where they treated her to good food and decked her up in Maharashtrian sarees, with the nath. The latest photos have Ira wearing a red cotton saree and adorned some imitation floral jewelery. She also posed with Nupur in a couple of photos.

In a recent interview with News18, Aamir Khan confirmed that his daughter’s wedding will mark the beginning of the new year. The actor confirmed the date and also lauded his future son-in-law, saying, “Ira is getting married on January 3. The boy she has chosen is – waise toh pet name unka naam Popeye hai — he is trainer, he has arms like Popeye but his name is Nupur. He is a lovely boy. When Ira was battling depression, he was with her. He is really someone who has stood by her and emotionally supported her. I am happy that they are so happy together. They are very well connected, they really look after each other and care for each other.”
