‘Never Have I Ever’ actor Anirudh Pisharody married his college sweetheart, filmmaker Jill V Dae at Castello Odescalchi di Bracciano, a scenic lakeside castle in Rome. The couple had a dual wedding where both Anirudh and Jill’s respective cultures played an important part in their union. It started with a Chinese tea ceremony, an Indian kalyanam and a Western wedding ceremony. It was rounded up with an after-party for friends and families.

Anirudh and Jill had an outdoor wedding, which had chances of a shower. However, what they experienced instead was a beam of warm sunlight shining bright. About the same, Jill told Vogue, “The sky was overcast during the Western ceremony in the garden. As we exchanged our vows and rings, a beam of sunlight shone down on us like a warm spotlight from a parting in the clouds.” To this, Anirudh added, “A double rainbow appeared over Lake Bracciano just as guests entered the cocktail hour garden venue. So magical, so serendipitous.”

Anirudh Pisharody and Jill V Dae met each other at their college’s grocery store’s parking lot in 2014. Later, they met again at Anirudh’s Halloween weekend party. Soon after, sparks flew and they bonded over their common love for cinema and filmmaking. It was in 2019 when Anirudh proposed marriage to Jill and they were to wed soon after. But their wedding was delayed indefinitely due to the pandemic. Four years after their engagement, in November 2023, they started their happily ever after.
