Aamir Khan and Reena Dutta‘s daughter Ira Khan is all set to tie the knot with her long-time boyfriend Nupur Shikhare next month. Ira, on Tuesday night gave some inside glimpses of her early wedding festivities by sharing pictures and videos from her “Maharashtrian Kelvan.”
Ira and Nupur will reportedly get married on January 3 and the wedding prep at the Khan- Shikhare residence are on full swing. Ira’s friend, actor Mithila Palkar also shared some pictures from the celebrations last night. Aamir Khan’s ex-wife Kiran Rao, and their son Azad Rao Khan were also present.
In one of her Instagram stories, Ira is showing her family enjoying a traditional Maharashtrian meal on a banana leaf. In the video Ira says, “My God guys, get married to a Maharashtrian and get a Kelvan. How fun is this?”
In other pictures, Ira is sharing a fun moment with Nupur and Mithila. In her Instagram story, Mithila wrote, “The wedding festivities have begin!” and in yet another story she wrote, “Let’s get you guys married!.” Ira is seen dressed in a maroon saree with a sequinned blouse, while Nupur is seen wearing a kurta-pyjama with a turban. Mithila is seen wearing a shalwar suit with a lime yellow dupatta.
While Aamir Khan was absent from the Tuesday’s festivities, but he had recently opened up about Ira wedding. In an interview with News18, he had said, “Main toh bada emotional hota hoon bhai, uss din main bahut rone waala hoon yeh toh tay hai. (I’m extremely emotional, and I’m going to cry a lot at Ira’s wedding, that’s for sure). Discussions have already begun in the family that ‘Aamir ko sambaalna uss din (take care of Aamir that day)’ because I am very emotional. I can’t control my smile nor my tears.”
