The biggest wedding of the year is finally coming to a close after a four-day extravaganza costing millions.
This weekend, Pretty Little Thing’s founder Umar Kamani married his model wife Nada Adelle in a series of dazzling events estimated to cost £20million as they jetted to the South of France.
The fashion brand CEO, 36, and his exquisite bride, 31, pulled out all the stops with two jaw-dropping ceremonies, a welcome ‘white party’ on Thursday evening under the stars before closing off with a barbecue.
Friday’s Western-style ceremony took place at the Grand Allée in the lavish hotel and was certainly one for the books as it hosted a variety of celebrity guests and featured musical performances from Mariah Carey and Andrea Bocelli.
Following their celebrations on Friday, Umar and Nada celebrated again on Saturday with a traditional Indian ceremony, which was equally mesmerising.
However, the married couple are still not finished – as a relaxed barbecue on Sunday will complete the whirlwind four-day extravaganza.
The weekend of celebrations brought together their celeb pals, from supermodel Naomi Campbell to actor Tessa Thompson, comedian Russell Peters, singer Christina Milian, Arabia editor-in-chief Manuel Arnaut, and Red Sea Film Festival Foundation CEO Mohammed Al Turki.
For Friday’s ceremony Nada looked radiant in a custom Maria Grazia Chiuri-designed Dior gown which boasted an impressive train and simple capped sleeves.
Fast fashion boss Umar looked incredibly dapper as he waited under a seaside gazebo in a classic Tom Ford tuxedo.
Andrea Bocelli also added to the romantic ambience as he performed one of his greatest songs ‘The Prayer’ for Nada’s walk down the aisle as a full orchestra joined him.
In an exclusive interview with Vogue Arabia, the newlyweds revealed that their first meeting at the altar on Friday was among the most special moments of the weekend.
Nada shared: ‘It’s something every little girl dreams about, but to do it in such style, in such beautiful surroundings – and of course to the man of my dreams! – was really a fairytale.’
Umar added: ‘What can I say? I was speechless when I saw Nada in that dress. It was the most emotional moment.’
And speaking about her stunning Dior wedding dress, Nada said: ‘I wanted the dress itself to be the detail. The neckline, the shape, the lines.
‘I envisioned a gown that would stand the test of time, embodying a sense of grace and sophistication that would never go out of style.’
Nada said when she saw a sweetheart neckline on a black dress worn by royal and Hollywood actress Grace Kelly, she immediately knew that she wanted that style and everything ‘fell into place’ after that.
She then had a discussion at Dior’s Haute Couture salons, where they incorporated styles from Kamani’s stylist Cary Robinson.
Nada was then presented with sketches of what her dream wedding dress would look like. All that was left was to select the neckline, veil and fabric she wanted, in this case it was peau de soie.
The stunning frock was crafted in Dior’s Flou Workshop and Nada said she adores the dress because of the feminine sweetheart neckline.
She told the outlet: ‘I adore the neckline. I’ve never seen it done in a wedding dress before, so it feels unique to me.’
It featured a cinched waistline, which showed off Nada’s sophisticated figure, a long, chic train, silk tulle and stunning lace veil.
Nada had three haute couture seamstresses and a pattern maker bring the wedding dress of dreams to life.
It took a whopping 540 hours to bring the vision to life, a similar timeframe to that of royal wedding dresses.
The couple also hired event planners Banana Split to bring their dream venue to life, fusing a western style white wedding, and an Indian wedding.
After the romantic al fresco ceremony, guests enjoyed an elegant old-fashioned black-tie dinner before a late night afterparty, which included a special surprise performance from music icon Mariah Carey.
On Saturday the couple celebrated again with Indian nuptials, as guests shared a glimpse of the couple in traditional white embellished outfits with garlands around their necks.
They were also filmed exchanging a sweet kiss, while entertainment for the guests included dhol players, Bollywood dancers and drums.
Umar was carried on shoulders through the crowd as deafening cheers celebrated the couple tying the knot for a second time.
At yet another wedding reception, the couple were even showed in bank notes as they were surrounded by their seemingly limitless numbers of friends.
A laid back barbeque on Sunday will complete the four day extravaganza after a glam white party kicked off the celebrations on Thursday.
Supermodel Naomi Campbell, 53, stunned in a pale peach corset gown which boasted an off-the-shoulder design, sheer sleeves, and an embellished skirt for Friday’s ceremony.
Joining her at the lavish ceremony was Saudi Arabian film producer Mohammed Al Turki, 37, who cut a dapper figure in a black tuxedo.
Best man Ryan Thomas, 39, was joined by his ex-TOWIE star fiancé Lucy Mecklenburgh, 32 for the celebrations.
Lucy stunned in a pink floor-grazing gown with organza detailing after wearing white the day before for the pre-wedding party.
Former footballer Rio Ferdinand, 45, and his wife Kate, 32, were also dressed to the nines for the special occasion.
Kate cut an elegant figure in a stylish black gown which boasted a flattering sweetheart neckline while Rio looked handsome in a black tuxedo.
Former Strictly Come Dancing star, Adam Thomas, 35, cut a dapper look in a black suit while his wife Caroline looked chic in a black tulle dress and fascinator.
Professional boxer Anthony Joshua swapped his boxing gloves for a formal suit for the day as he got snapped next to pal Scott Thomas, 35.
Diary of a CEO podcaster and Dragons’ Den star Steven Bartlett also attended the lavish wedding ceremony and looked incredible in a two-piece suit with a classic bow tie.
Nada and Umar officially kicked off their weekend of celebrations on Thursday by hosting a poolside welcome party for all their guests attending.
The get-together took place by the pool overlooking the Mediterranean and gave everyone a chance to settle in and spend some quality time together before the big day.
The happy couple spared no expense for the welcome party as they hired henna tattoo artists and fire and belly dancers.
A stunning fireworks display also lit up the sky and served as a highlight of the night for the VIP guests.
For the occasion, Nada dressed in a stunning custom-made Zuhair Murad gown and completed the look with several elegant jewellery items.
It comes after Umar popped the question in Côte d’Azur in 2021, which inevitably made choosing the wedding location a straightforward task for Nada.
He hired out the Monte Carlo Opera House and had several professional photographers on hand to capture the moment.
In typically extravagant fashion, Umar filled the historic theatre with 10,000 white roses, and dozens of candles while 25 musicians played Beauty and the Beast as radiant Nadia walked into the room.
Although she married the king of fast fashion, Nada eschewed his brands for a £1,790 slinky white gown with bejewelled straps and cut-out detailing from London-based designer David Koma for the occasion.
The dress perfectly complemented her ring – a 21-carat Leon diamond sparkler flown in from New York celebrity jeweller Richie Rich.
Umar, whose family built their fashion empire from a Manchester market stall into a multi-billion pound business, looked dapper in a £4,300 Tom Ford suit and £730,000 Patek Philippe watch.
The breathtaking proposal came after a whirlwind romance for Umar and Nadia, who only stepped out publicly together for the first time in March 2020.
