What do you get when you have the world’s largest young population? A record number of weddings. Last year 38 lakh Indian couples tied the knot. By some accounts every fourth wedding in the world happens in India, Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath recently shared on LinkedIn. The thing about Indian weddings is that they are big. Whether it’s a traditional rural wedding solemnised at home or a multi-million-dollar destination wedding in the Ambani family (their most recent was a three-day pre-wedding bash), they never skimp on pomp and spectacle.
