This Survey Reveals That 49% Of Gen Z Indians Are Considering Having A Destination Wedding

Weddings are one of the most celebrated days in everyone’s life. Nowadays, the influence of grand weddings is demonstrated by high-profile celebrations and extravagant festivities. Leading global travel app Skyscanner has unveiled the latest survey titled, “Destination ‘I Do’”, which showcases a strong urge for destination weddings among Indians. 85% of them are either planning or have already had a destination wedding. As per the report, Gen Z is the leading in charge with 49% considering getting married at a stunning destination, as compared to 33% of millennials.

As suggested by the report, Asia was the top choice for a destination wedding among Indians, with 48% of people looking for places like Thailand, Japan and the Maldives. Not only do these places promise stunning backdrops but they are also easier on the wallet. On the other hand, 31% are looking atEurope’s romantic destinations like the UK, Spain, France and Italy.  

The report also displayed the top picks for Indian couples. When planning a perfect destination wedding, couples are mostly looking for places like Goa, for a dreamy beach wedding, Dubai for the bling and ultra-glamourous view and Bali and Bangkok for the tropical aesthetic.

When it comes to the vibe of destination weddings, there are a lot of options like beaches, royal palaces, scenic mountains and a lot more. The report says that 26% of Indians are looking at a beach wedding, while 20% are drawn towards royal palaces. 19% are attracted to picturesque mountain backdrops and personalised celebrations.
