Neehar Sachdeva, a content creator based in the US, made the internet cry happy tears after her wedding video and pictures went viral on social media. Diagnosed with alopecia, Neehar has been applauded for her strength and resilience by social media users.

Dressed in a magnificent red lehenga and statement jewellery, Neehar walked towards her fiance Arun V Ganapathy, who looked at her with so much love. The heartfelt moment culminated in a warm embrace just before their varmala ceremony, as documented in a video that has now garnered over 40 million views.

Speaking on a podcast with Shivani Pau, Neehar opened up about her journey, recalling how her condition affected her childhood.

“Sometimes, I would have the hair on my head but then I would lose an eyebrow. For a really long time, I had all of my hair but I just didn’t have an eyebrow and this was probably the ages of like 5, 6, 7. I was always really good at academics and I think direct correlation, when I started wearing a wig, my grades went down because now I wasn’t paying attention in class. I was paying attention to, ‘is the back of my hair okay?’ or ‘do I need to pull my wig down over here?’ Wearing a wig is not an option for me. There’s not a medical treatment that I could go for, and so I decided to shave my head and that was probably the single best decision that I have made in my life,” Neehar said.
