Kanpur: Love needs no words. Neither were any spoken in this uniquelove storythat blossomed on social media and culminated in their wedding in Etawah on Tuesday.
Priyanka Rajoure, a resident of Ramayan village in Etawah’s Bharthana, and Sahil Kumar Sohit, a restaurant entrepreneur based in New Zealand, discovered each other on social media platforms approximately eighteen months ago. Since both of them are deaf and mute, their connection was instant and heartfelt.

Priyanka’s father, Manoj Rajoure, shared that his daughter was deaf and mute since birth. But she turned her inability to speak into a strength, spending significant time on the internet to learn sign language. She completed her early education in Bharthana and pursued higher studies from Kanpur and Lucknow. Sahil’s entire family moved from their ancestral home in Faridabad, Haryana, to New Zealand for business.
The community celebrated this unique union, recognising it as a beautiful example ofinclusive love. The wedding festivities included traditional rituals such as ‘mehndi’, ‘sangeet’, and the main wedding ceremony. The bride’s family members helped explain the various customs to guests, ensuring everyone felt included in the celebrations.
