Aneesha and Rishab have been dating since school, and have had a long distance relationship since- navigating through universities and cities. For their wedding, they envisioned an intimate affair surrounded by nature, and that’s exactly what they did, surrounded by the scenic hills and their closest ones at Club Mahindra Kandaghat. About The Wedding
Our wedding took place on November 27, 2024. We began dating in 2016, right after school, just before leaving Amritsar and moving to different cities for college. Our 8.5 years of relationship has entirely been long-distance.
One would think that it takes a lot to sustain a relationship like this – while all it takes is a strong, passionate & loyal friendship. Just like between two best friends, our shared space has always been an open, judgement free zone where you could be yourself and be understood. It’s the tiny things – ordering my favourite pepperoni pizza for me even though he is a vegetarian or coming to love dogs after years of running away from them because I love them so much.
Just like best friends, we have also helped each other grow – I filled his MBA application form while he helped me crack my job interview. Now, we work at the same company but still in different cities :p
The “effort” of a long distance relationship – saving pocket money for flights, planning surprises, video calls even after a super tiring day – all of it never felt like effort because that’s what you do when you crave someone so much.
With our wedding, we always wanted to ditch the overcrowded typical Amritsar wedding and have a relatively intimate affair in a picturesque location. Kandaghat valley near Shimla with its lush hills and landscapes served as the perfect backdrop where we exchanged our vows and promised to be best friends before husband and wife for the rest of our lives.
