Indore:Indoredistrict administration on Thursday managed to stop a child marriage as ‘Vivah Muhurat’ (wedding season) started inHindu Communityfrom the auspicious day of ‘Dev Uthani Ekadashi’.After a gap of around four months, weddings in Hindu community started from Thursday, but before that, many marriage halls and hotels along with that makeup artists were booked months before.On Thursday, many ‘Band, Baja and Barat’ were seen on the city’s roads while priests and caterers were busy performing wedding’s rituals and preparing delicious foods for the guests of the event, respectively.City-based pandits, who are being approached for ‘Shubh Muruat’ (good omen) to hold marriages, said that there around 25 dates till March considered as auspicious days, on which, the couples can tie the nuptial knot. The wedding season has also increased business for the people involved in garment, jewelry, tent, lighting, DJ/sounds along with that in transportation, the sources claimed.With this, Indore administration has deployed its two district-level teams to stop child marriage. “Acting on an information, we today managed to stop marriage of a 16-and-half-years old girl in Kamathipura area that was scheduled on November 24” one of the team members Mahendra Pathak said, adding that the minor’s mother has given an affidavit that they will perform the girl’s marriage only after she will attain 18-years of age.The team had also stopped a child marriage on Tuesday, he said. Senior election officials resolved some confusions among people about taking out marriage procession and holding reception as the model code of conduct for the assembly polls is still in place. “The marriage processions and receptions can be held as usual and without any hurdles.
