Rush Of Blood! Saving Lives Via DronesA study conducted by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) found that using drones to deliver blood bags and blood components could be a gamechanger in emergency situations. The study involved three institutes in Delhi and Greater Noida, and the preliminary findings showed that drones were safer and less time-consuming compared to conventional transportation methods. The drones maintained the temperature required for blood and blood components and showed no visible haemolysis or clotting. This research will help establish a delivery method for life-saving blood in hard-to-reach areas and develop standard operating procedures for using drones.
