Chitra Purushotham, a popular bodybuilder and fitness trainer from Karnataka, set the Internet abuzz with her one-of-a-kind wedding photos. Dressed in a stunning Kanjivaram saree, Chitra proudly displayed her chiseled muscles on the wedding day, triggering a flurry of reactions on social media.
In the viral videos, Chitra donned a yellow and blue Kanjivaram saree draped without a blouse, highlighting her shoulders and sculpted biceps. She completed her look with gold jewellery, a kamar bandh, a maang tikka, earrings, and bangles. Her bold makeup look consisted of winged eyeliner, plaited hair with gajra, and red lipstick.
Purushotham tied the knot with her longtime boyfriend Kiran Raj, Odisha TV reported.
In one of the videos, Chitra can be seen all decked up as a bride and posing for the photographers. But, unlike conventional Indian brides, she flaunted her biceps and shoulders during the bridal photoshoot.

The video, with its comment section limited, garnered over 36 million views on Instagram, and was shared to other platforms, including Reddit.
On Reddit, several users hailed Chitra, with one saying, “She feels confident in her skin! Which i absolutely admire. More power to her.” Another user commented, “Bodybuilding requires years of discipline, training, and commitment and saying she’s just ‘confident in her skin’ almost makes it sound like she’s naturally this way, rather than recognizing the sheer effort it takes to be a bodybuilder.”
