One of the most adored couples in the Telugu film industry, their fans were left devastated when actors Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya decided to go their separate ways after being married for four years.
The couple, who got married on October 6, 2017, made their separation public on October 2, 2021, through their social media accounts. Following their separation, Samantha had deleted and/or archived most of the social media posts she had previously shared about Chaitanya.
However, a photo Samantha shared on November 23, 2017, on the occasion of Chaitanya’s 31st birthday, has now gone viral on social media. The post, which had vanished following their separation, recently reemerged on Samantha’s Instagram handle, causing a frenzy among fans. However, it is not clear if it was done by Samantha intentionally.
In the black-and-white photo, Samantha is seen affectionately kissing a joyful Chaitanya during the wedding ceremony they organised in line with Christian customs on October 7, 2017. “Happy birthday my Everything ❤️❤️❤️ I don’t wish, I pray every single day that God gives you everything your heart desires. I love you forever,” she wrote back then.

As soon as the photo reappeared on Samantha’s Instagram feed, fans immediately started flooding the comment section with affection and admiration for the couple. They also pondered whether this was a sign of a potential reconciliation between them.
“Get back together mam… Ur most loveable couple in tollywood,” one user wrote, while another one noted: “You are my favourite couple…. get back together ❤️❤️❤️”

Announcing their separation in October 2017, Samantha had noted on social media: “After much deliberation and thought, Chay and I have decided to part ways as husband and wife to pursue our own paths. We are fortunate to have a friendship of over a decade that was the very core of our relationship which we believe will always hold a special bond between us. We request our fans, well-wishers and the media to support us during this difficult time and give us the privacy we need to move on. Thanking you for your support.”

Following their divorce, Samantha had faced merciless trolling on social media. Commenting on these trolls, Samantha told Zoom earlier this year: “Maybe from a third person’s point of view it’s that, I was just being myself. I don’t know any other way to react. Nobody else is deciding for me, there’s no one in my head, it’s my natural reaction…”

Mentioning that she doesn’t see herself as “strong and independent”, Samantha added, “I see all of the lows, all the days I didn’t want to get out of bed, I see the crying, I see the constant asking my mom if I’m going to be okay. That’s not superhuman strength. There’s a little girl in there as well, who is weak and wants to get better.”
