Meet Geena

Look 1 – Welcome Lunch

Every event was taken place at the legendary, Rambagh palace in Jaipur, India. The first event, the welcome lunch was relaxed, and there was no specific theme to this since it was a casual event.  I knew I wanted to wear something with a semi-formal flair, while still being comfortable and I went ahead with this beautiful, Moni K outfit which comprised of an off-white embellished bustier along with a simple dhoti skirt.

I decided to accessorize this outfit with large statement earrings from Amama Jewels Private Limited and with an Aanchal Sayal potli. I don’t usually wear all-white outfits, but I thought a daytime casual event needed just this, something classic and comfortable, but still formal enough for a wedding event. I opted for a daytime glam look for myself since it was very hot in Jaipur. Since I had chosen large earrings, I decided to put my hair back in a high pony. Sleek, and elegant!

Look 2 – Mehendi

Tia, my beautiful friend and the bride had chosen specific themes for most events, and for the mehndi, she had chosen pink, orange, and Jaipur themes. Being in the Indian bridal space for years now, I had worked with My Moledero many times before, and I knew I had to wear their beautiful Pink concept saree! What’s amazing about this outfit, is that I could change the attached “dupatta” to whichever shoulder I’d like, AND I can completely take off the “dupattas” and it turned into a halter neck fusion concept!

I opted for a similar makeup and hair look from the welcome lunch since I wanted a light look because I wanted to build on every look thereafter. I added a tinge more to my lips and my cheeks to compliment the pink tones from the outfit and to bring a little more colour to my face. I paired this pink My Moledero outfit with a Cult Gaia clutch, which made for a very fusion look since this clutch is more bohemian, but I love pairing different elements to make the perfect look! The earrings I had gone ahead with for this look were from Gamini Jewellery. They were simple polki earrings, which made for a simple and elegant look overall!

Look 3 – Haldi

For Tia’s haldi, she had chosen an everything-yellow theme! Which of course, I LOVED! Yellow is a colour near and dear to me because it looks so stunning on us Desi girls. I opted for a fusionPallavi Jaipur★ 4.6 outfit, of course, yellow in colour! But what I loved about this outfit is that I could easily pair its mirrored vest with a whole different outfit just by pairing it with jeans or just by wearing the pants with the vest.

It was such a fun outfit, and very comfortable! I chose this beautiful off-white jewellery set from Amama Jewels Private Limited because I wanted something fun to complement the look. The necklace and earrings were perfect accessories for the stunning Pallavi Jaipur outfit! Since the Haldi was a daytime affair, I decided to put my hair in half up, half down style, allowing for some free hair, but also so that not much hair was in my face since the heat was quite strong. My bag is a woven gold clutch, which I love wearing along with Indian clothes because it honestly goes with so much!

Look 4 – Sangeet

For Tia and Hark’s Sangeet, the theme was Bollywood X Hollywood and I just knew I needed GLAM! Regardless of one industry being in India and the other being in my hometown of Los Angeles, the one common denominator was GLAM. For this event, I went with a stunning black gown from Maison H based in Delhi, along with elegant Purab Paschim earrings. Before we headed to Jaipur for the grand wedding, I was very confused as to which earrings would complement this gorgeous and striking gown but as soon as I sat down at Purab Paschim, they were able to help me choose accessories for three of the events, and the sangeet was definitely one of them!

Since the shoulder detail was so bold on this dress, I wanted all my hair to be up and out of my face since the outfit was the focal point of the whole look. The event being a night affair mandated a smokey look and a nude lip, along with a medium contour of the face and that’s exactly what I had done on myself. The bag of choice for the night was a classic Alexader McQueen clutch which is about 10 years old now, but still a great evening clutch! Since I had worn an all-black outfit, of course, I had to continue the look by pairing a classic pair of black Lace J’Adior slingback heels.

Look 5 –  Anand Karaj

For Tia and Hark’s wedding ceremony, she had specifically asked her close friends to wear shades of off-white and gold and I went ahead with this stunning lehenga from Aditi Gupta. Aditi had also made a stunning complimenting outfit for my husband. What I loved about both of our outfits was, that they were both so different yet went beautifully well together!

I love traditional vibes for wedding ceremonies, so I kept a daytime glowy face, but I went a little smokey on the eyes in order to accentuate them a little more. I paired the outfit with a slicked-back bun wrapped in Jasmine flower gajras, along with a gorgeous set of earrings, and two stunning necklaces (one choker and one layered pearl necklace) all from Purab Paschim. Along with this lehenga and jewellery, I paired the same gold clutch from the haldi. I truly believe in being able to reuse and recycle wherever we can, so reusing accessories is a definite YES as a part of the wedding looks!

Look 6 – Reception

The GRAND FINALE! The theme for the night was Sheesh Mahal and my goodness did her venue look like it! WOW! I knew the last event really needed the absolute boldest look, and I was so happy I went with this beautiful all-gold fusion concept from Itrh! Not only was this outfit speechless and hands down, the most insane outfit I have ever worn, but truly, it was UNFORGETTABLE.

I paired the look with gold stilettos, a gold embellished clutch from LA-based designer, Laurel Dewitt, fun gold bangles by Zohra India, and gorgeous earrings from Purab Paschim.

One of my best friends, Serena from the UK was a bridesmaid for Tia, and she is also a very talented bridal makeup and hair stylist! She had done my jaw-dropping makeup and hair for this look. I am SO happy I had asked her to do my makeup and hair because I don’t think this look would’ve come together if she hadn’t personally done it! I had shot this insane look with the very talented Mitesh Khatri who is local to Jaipur. Overall, I think regardless of what I wore, as long as I felt my best, that’s what mattered the most at any wedding I attended!

So which look is your favourite one?
