A Hindu wedding ceremony in progress.
December 2026 carries seven auspicious marriage dates in DrikPanchang's calendar: the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 11th and 12th. That is nearly twice what November offers, and it is the last of them for a while.
The first block runs almost continuously. The 2nd opens at 10:32 AM and the muhurat holds through to 7:00 AM on the 3rd, under Uttara Phalguni. The 3rd carries several windows across Uttara Phalguni and Hasta. The 4th is short, 7:01 AM to 10:22 AM, under Hasta. The 5th opens at 11:48 AM and runs to 7:02 AM on the 6th under Swati, and the 6th closes early at 7:42 AM.
Then a five-day gap, and a second block. The 11th runs from 3:04 AM to 7:06 AM on the 12th under Uttara Ashadha, and the 12th runs from 7:06 AM through to 3:27 AM on the 13th.
““A muhurat that runs 3:04 AM to 7:06 AM is a pre-dawn ceremony.””
Read those timings closely before you book anything. Several of the windows open in the small hours or close before mid-morning. A muhurat that runs 3:04 AM to 7:06 AM is a pre-dawn ceremony, and your caterer, your venue and everyone travelling need to know that when they commit rather than a week beforehand.
After 12 December there is nothing. DrikPanchang's next auspicious marriage date is 15 January 2027, a gap of more than a month created by Kharmas, when the Sun moves into Sagittarius. A December date that does not work is not a matter of waiting a fortnight. The season stops.

The acoustic sitar during midnight pheras is such an inspired touch. Finally a return to soul over decibels!
Loved the breakdown of vintage zardozi craftsmanship. True luxury takes thousands of hours.
