Royal Wedding: Peter Phillips Marries Harriet Sperling as King Charles Attends

The British royal family turned out in force on June 6, 2026, as Peter Phillips, grandson of the late Queen Elizabeth II, married NHS nurse Harriet Sperling at All Saints' Church in Kemble, England.

King Charles and Queen Camilla were among the senior royals present, alongside the Prince and Princess of Wales. Phillips is the son of Princess Anne and her first husband, Captain Mark Phillips, which puts him inside the family's immediate circle despite holding no formal royal title.

Sperling, a pediatric nurse, had appeared at royal events in the months before the wedding, including a Christmas service at Sandringham in late 2025.

The wedding opened a busy summer of royal celebrations. A second, that of Lady Marina Windsor, followed two weeks later.

Phillips is the eldest grandchild of Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, and this was his second marriage. The bridal party was his two daughters, Savannah and Isla, with Sperling's daughter Georgina, who carried the train and veil.

Sperling wore Emilia Wickstead: a square-neck column underdress under a lace overjacket fitted at the waist, finished with a three-metre train the designer's team put hundreds of hours of handwork into.

Princess Anne came with Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence, and Zara and Mike Tindall and Prince Edward and Sophie were there. Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Prince Harry were not expected, and did not attend.

The church at Kemble sits near Cirencester, about two hours from London, and no public guest list was released for any of it.

Not every wedding this year ran to that scale. Two months later Cristiano Ronaldo married in Cascais with only his five children present.
