Tulsi Vivah 2026 falls on Saturday, 21 November. The first wedding muhurat of the season opens the same morning, seventeen minutes later.

The date and the timings

DrikPanchang puts Tulasi Vivah on 21 November 2026, calculated for New Delhi. The Dwadashi tithi it sits in begins at 6:31 AM on the 21st and runs to 4:56 AM on the 22nd.

The season's first auspicious marriage window opens at 6:48 AM that same morning and stays open until 12:08 AM on the 22nd. So the tithi that carries Tulsi's wedding begins seventeen minutes before human weddings become possible again.

It is a wedding, and it is performed as one

Tulasi Vivah is the ceremonial marriage of the Tulasi plant, worshipped as a goddess, to Vishnu or his incarnation Krishna. DrikPanchang describes it as performed according to traditional Hindu wedding customs. Vrindavan and Mathura observe it in the most ceremonial detail.

It belongs on a wedding calendar for that reason, not only on a festival one.

The scriptures give different days

The Padma Purana places Tulasi Vivah on Kartika Shukla Navami. Other scriptures treat the five days from Prabodhini Ekadashi to Kartika Purnima as the auspicious stretch for it.

In 2026 that second window runs 20 to 24 November. Prabodhini Ekadashi is the 20th, and Kartik Purnima is observed on Tuesday the 24th, its tithi beginning at 11:42 PM on the 23rd and ending at 8:23 PM on the 24th. DrikPanchang's own observance date, the 21st, sits inside that window.

So if two calendars hand you different days for Tulsi Vivah, neither is necessarily wrong. They are reading different authorities. The same thing happens with marriage muhurat lists, where it causes more trouble, because those dates go on printed invitations.

Two of November's four wedding dates sit inside that window

November 2026 carries only four auspicious marriage dates: the 21st, 24th, 25th and 26th. The 21st and the 24th both fall inside the 20 to 24 November stretch.

If you are marrying on either of those two days, the venue, the priest and the flower market are working a Tulsi Vivah week as well as a wedding week. That is worth knowing before you assume a marigold order can be placed late.

Why the season restarts here

Dev Uthani Ekadashi on 20 November ends Chaturmas, the months in which Vishnu is held to sleep and auspicious work is suspended. DrikPanchang lists no marriage dates at all in October 2026, and the closure behind that is what puts both Tulsi Vivah and the season's first muhurat on the same weekend.

Once the calendar reopens, everything that was postponed lands on the same handful of days, which is what makes late booking expensive.
